It was a Trip! • May & June 2019 The White Horse (Le Cheval Blanc) – in Aubel, Belgium – found for us by Rιgine and Bernard Achten of Ans – was the central launching point of our several Achten-assisted forays to Henri-Chapelle, to Margraten, to Ans, to LaRoumiere Hill, and finally to the Bastogne War Museum. The White Horse was a PERFECT stay for us, and may we suggest – is a PERFECT hub for any research or visitation to the area. Henri-Chapelle is just at the top of the hill above the town of Aubel, which itself is a wonderful representation of rural, post-war peace in the Ardennes.
