Memorial Day • 2017 at Henri-Chapelle American
Remembering 1LT John Silas Sheffield Peirson

With personal thanks to the Achtens . . . Rιgine, Bernard, and Marie.
We simply couldn't remember and honor my Dad this way without you.
Dianna and Lindsey and Zack and Tanner and I are all so grateful to you
and the Belgian people for your constant diligence, reverence, and caring –
above and beyond.

Marie, now 12. Many thanks for being there with your Mom & Dad since you were very little.

You fill my Dad with spring on Memorial Day!

The three of you honor us all – by remembering our AWON men –
and our Pierre Claeyssens men – of which my Dad is lucky to be both.

What a beautiful remembrance –
– with the combination of yellow roses and the sun coming through
the yellow of that Belgian Flag. Your caring makes us very proud.

1LT John Peirson – Battalion S-2 and Platoon Leader,
290th Regiment, 75th Infantry Division, Patton's 3rd Army

Dad, you are well loved and well remembered by your family and friends –
both in America – and in Belgium, too!
